Rose Acres - Muriel and Bill Humenick
El Dorado, California  April 23, 2003

Muriel and Bill Humenick have grown and sold roses from their four acre home for over twenty years. Tucked away in the heart of gold country, the beautiful property has been extensively planted with hundreds of roses, camelias, clematis, shrubs, trees, bulbs and is a veritable botanical garden. Muriel, so gracious and kind, invited me into their home and first fed me homemade beef and barley soup, cheese and bread before leading me on a tour of her garden. Many of the roses I photographed were the largest specimens I had ever seen. A Rosa banksia alba had spread 30 feet across a fence and at least 40 feet into a pine. A huge 15 foot high mound of Beauty of Glazenwood in full bloom. There are 51 photos in this set. These photos were taken with an Olympus E20-N digital camera.
